President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko appointed a new Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Ukrainian President on 24 February.
Viktor Yushchenko signed a decree on appointing Roman Bezsmertnyi Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Belarus on 24 February, the last day of his presidency.
The other decree by Viktor Yushchenko relieved Igor Likhovyi of his duties as Ukrainian Ambassador to Belarus. Igor Likhovyi headed the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in Belarus since February 2007.
Roman Bezsmertnyi, 44, was deputy head of Ukrainian president's secretariat from April 2007 to May 2009. During presidential elections-2010 he was the first deputy chairman of Yushchenko’s campaign headquarters.
Viktor Yanokovych is due to be inaugurated as the new president of Ukriane on 25 February. |
